Hi DIYers,
I'm a singer-songwriter from Chicago and I'm excited to say this is my first DIY musician conference. I was turned on to this event after reading Ari Herstand's book How to Make It In the New Music Business.
I began my career in music as a jazz vocalist in my early 20's and after overcoming some self-doubt I discovered that I am a songwriter. This October I'm releasing my first pop/folk EP so I'm really excited to glean whatever insight I can into this ever-changing landscape. While writing and performing original music is my passion I pay the bills (and also really enjoy) leading a wedding/corporate events band and teaching choir at the Chicago high school for the Arts.
