Bill got his start in music and tech when he founded NYC indie label Blackout! Records and began building databases for the company. Since then, he’s worked for the labels Relativity, Caroline, Earache, and Atlantic. Starting in 2009, he has been part of the Music Business Association with his focus on Digital Strategy, creating the organization's Metadata Summit, workgroups, entrepreneurial program, and collaborating with Music Ally to co-create the successful NY:LON Connect conference series. He has been featured in The Wall St. Journal, Billboard, The Next Web and other publications for his work at the association.
Wilson now runs his own boutique consulting firm World's Forgotten Boy, LLC., where his main clients include the Music Business Association, remix clearance service Dubset, and metadata delivery platform OpenPlay. In addition, Bill is the co-founder of the music industry freelance/ side hustle platform http://indie.ninja.
